HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
The Home & School Association is made up of parents of St. John Central students, teachers, and staff. It serves not only as an important link between home and school, but also as an integral part of the school, parish, and community.
Meetings are held each month on the third Wednesday @ 6:30PM with the exception of July. We strongly encourage involvement of all student families. Please consider giving your time or talents! Research consistently shows that kids whose parents are involved get better grades, do better on tests, and have fewer difficulties in school.
The Home & School is responsible for contributing $20,000 each year to the school general operating budget. Additional funding has also been provided for Accelerated Reader Program, smart boards, kitchen remodel, school busing fees, volunteer background checks/fingerprinting and more. The H & S also plans and funds activities such as Snoop & Scoop, Back to School Bash, End of School picnic, Halloween party, Thanksgiving Feast, Catholic Schools Week, etc.
Parents interested in serving as an officer or on a committee (Building & Grounds, Community Relations, Fundraising, and Athletic Boosters) of the H & S can contact current president to state their intentions.
Our meetings are official and informative. They last about an hour, we sometimes have refreshments, and there is always FUN conversation! You can be as lax or involved as you want to be, and it benefits the kids!
